ESQAdvantage is the legal profession's
source on how to land a great legal job. The key is to
know what employers want. For the first time, legal professionals
reveal every step you must take to be successful in your
job search. Don't blow your one chance to make a great
first impression!
Be persistent. Even
if you were already rejected, send another letter at
a later date. True story – “three times
a charm”: A candidate sent their resume during
law school and a year after graduation to the fifth
largest firm in one of the largest cities in the country.
The candidate was rejected both times. Then, after working
a year, they again sent their resume. The candidate
got an interview and was hired. Ironically, the second
rejection letter came from the same person who hired
them!
Tools
Use these tools and techniques to get that Great Legal Job!
The LDG Resume Makeover™ consists of the following:
Step 1
Legal: A Hiring Professional conducts a Four-Category Analysis™ of your resume. Then, the results of the Four-Category Analysis™ are used to complete a resume makeover.
Step
2
Design:
Once your resume has been revised from the legal
perspective, our design team will review your
resume. This team will focus upon “the look”
of your resume. Your resume will be examined for
font consistency, layout, spacing, margins, and
other factors that affect how your resume looks.
We use professionals with a creative background,
not a legal background, because of their expertise
in design and layout. The success of your resume
depends not just on what you say, but also on
how you say it.
Step
3
Grammar:
Once the legal and design departments complete their
work, our grammar department will check your resume
for grammar.
The Process.
Step 1
Upload your resume.
Step 2
Once the LDG Resume Makeover™ is complete (please allow 10 to 14 days), you
will receive your resume via email in a Word document.
